Deer Habitat Management
Deer Habitat Management Penn State’s School of Forest Resources Renewable Natural Resources Extension program launched the PA Forests Web Seminar Center to address an educational need. The Center provides monthly, live, web-based educational programs and materials for forest owners, extension educators, and natural resource professionals related to the stewardship and issues of Pennsylvania’s forest resources. To participate in the Center’s offerings, visit http://rnrext.cas.psu.edu/PAForestWeb/ where you can learn how to become part of this learning community. Participation Live seminars are offered on the second Tuesday of every month at noon and again at 7:00 p.m. Everyone is welcome to participate in live seminars; however, you first must register one time as a “Friend of Penn State.” Details on registering are available at the site given above. Anyone can view any previously recorded sessions any time by clicking on the previously recorded seminars link. After registering, to participate in a live seminar, go to the seminar on-line meeting area. The on-line meeting area is a web page, with a unique web address, that allows you to view, listen to, and interact with a live seminar. Every month, a few days before the webinar, and again the day of the event, you will receive an email containing a link to the meeting area. Or, you can click on the upcoming seminar link and choose the seminar time for the month’s offering. At the on-line meeting area you can see and hear the presentation given by an expert in the field and ask questions by typing into the chat feature. Presentations will usually last about an hour, though sometimes questions can run long. What You Will Need to Participate To view live and previously recorded seminars you will need a high-speed Internet connection and sound. Participation in the web seminar does not require any other special software.
